Panic Attack Causes - How Do You Deal With Stress And Anxiety?

We live in a stressful world and our fast-paced lifestyle can often take its toll on our bodies. We deal with stress and anxiety almost every day of our lives. For the majority of people they do not allow stress and anxiety to take control but for some it will get out of hand unless they take measures to deal with it.

There are several ways to deal with stress and anxiety. Some people resort to prescription medication that is supposed to reduce the level of anxiety. For the most part these medications work well to reduce the level of stress but they also tend to be addictive and can cause you to feel sleepy and drowsy.

One way to deal with stress and anxiety is with behavior modification. This does not mean that you must change your entire way of life. Small changes can often do wonders. One very important change can be the addition of exercise into your daily routine. Having a body that is trim and fit has many benefits including the benefit of less stress and anxiety.

Exercise does not mean that you should become a body builder with muscles that you can flex. Exercise can mean a walk in the open air to help clear the mind and the soul. Walking is highly recommended by doctors as the exercise of choice to help you achieve better health. Walking increases the heart rate which helps to build strong heart muscle. It also helps better blood circulation which keeps the blood flowing freely. Often anxiety will constrict the blood vessels making circulation difficult. Walking also increases the flow of oxygen through the body which is known to reduce the level of anxiety and stress.

Yoga is another form of exercise that is highly recommended to help reduce stress and anxiety. Yoga is a series of stretching and relaxing exercises that help relax the mind and the body. Many doctors recommend yoga therapy for those who are under a lot of stress.

Deep breathing exercises also helps the flow of oxygen through the body. Slowly inhaling and slowly exhaling helps control the amount of oxygen that is taken in and used by the body. It also gives you something to think about and concentrate on rather than your stress.

If you are under a lot of stress and anxiety you should take some time out to do something that you enjoy. This may mean a good soak in your favorite bubble bath or curling up and reading a good book. Getting your mind off of your problems and concentrating on something you enjoy is a great way to relax and relieve stress and anxiety. If it is impossible for you to set aside an hour every day then try to get at least thirty minutes where you are allowed to enjoy something for yourself. Get in the routine of doing this at least every other day. Make sure your kids and other family members know to not bother you during this time. Taking the time to enjoy something that is privately yours is a great way to deal with stress and anxiety.
